Integrating with Adobe Acrobat Connect
Recently, I got a trial account for Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro. Although I am impressed by the functionality of this product itself, I am mainly interested in how to connect with Adobe Connect, and how to integrate it with existing Java applications. It is rather easy to do so!Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro is Adobe's system for (how does this fit in a few words?) online collaboration, using chat, streaming audio and video, sharing documents, all embedded in a user interface that is more than acceptable today. You can view a promo-video at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/?promoid=BPDEA.
For a research project we are doing at LodgON together with Indigov, we are looking for ways to integrate social networking with online collaboration/participation software. Adobe Connect is definitely a good candidate for this. Apart from the amazing functionality, it offers a whole set of web services that allows third party software to interact with the functionality available in Adobe Connect.
We are currently working on a demo project where we integrate DaliCMS with Adobe Connect, using the Adobe Connect Enterprise XML Web Services. At this (early) stage, I am surprised to see how simple it is to do a technical integration between these two products. More detailed information will be posted later.
